295 is too wide for a 10" rim IMO...

Standard size is 10,5" and 10" is the minimum for that tire, just fits.
BBS has the CH in 10x18 and offset 40. But does it fit with the 295s w/o altering the body?

If you have currently 30mm clearence on the strut side with the 255/35-18 standard wheel it could work with an offset of 46 ( ET-46 ).

I guess I have to measure the clearance and take it from there. Thanks for the info.

Why would you want to go that wide? That's alot of rotational mass... 275 is already pretty wide...

Since I have no LSD, I want as much rubber on the ground as possible.
Have you ever had an EVO 8? With that car you can take of around a bend with no tire spinning at all. I miss that very much.

I don't think rubber is your only solution. Suspension components can be upgraded so that your car turns better. I think larger tire sizes should be your last resort... I'm sure other people share the same view.

If you want to takeoff from a stand still the more rubber the better. Why you think 4wheelers are so fast? Or 911s...

Remember... 911s have more power AND are lighter than our cars, which means they can make use of that extra rubber. Have you seen the tire sizes on Mercedes E55 AMGs, the S/C ones? They have 245s in the back. You don't necessarily need crazy rubber to take off fast.

Wider tires = great possibility of hydroplaning.

Wider tires in the rear = understeer.

Wider/heavier tires in the front = less responsive steering.

The 3 series was designed to use certain tire diameters, but I guess for someone who just "drags" his car, it doesn't matter. Go for the 295s.

If that's what it's all about, you're in the wrong car. Go get a Mustang please.

I just hope you don't live anywhere near me. For someone to "accelerate around a bend" to/past the limit of his car is pretty stupid on public roads.

IMO, if you drive within the limits of the car, you don't need LSD. IIRC, the 335i beat the Z4M around a track. Z4M has LSD.

no mine doesnt rub. go to my profile and click all threads started by e92man. i think that i could have gone with 285s because i have toyos and they are on the smaller side. but 295s would rub. dude, just go with 275. a little stretched tire is better for handling. and no my tires r not noticably stretched. u have to look at the wheels close to tell that they r a little stretched
