Possibe idea for a meet?...

Hey guys, just an idea being thrown out here...

There are always car meets, but so few with a good cause. I was just thinking how awesome it would be if we can get a big meet going on that will result in a positive impact for the nearby community.

Where did I get the idea?...

A couple of years ago, I volunteered at a local community center where the kids would come and hang out. The area is not the most ritzy or upscale neighborhood. The kids would come and play sports and interact with each other while the parents are still at work so they don't take up interest in illegal activities.

These kids used to always form a circle around my car and say how great it is, and etc. (This was wayy before I had the 3 as well). Most of these kids come from families with not so much money so they don't have much, like some of us do. I remember I took them to lunch once, nothing great, just a quick bite at McDonald's and most of them were jumping for joy.

I think it'd be cool if we can organize some sort of a gathering where we bring presents to these kids who are not fortunate to have decent toys and such...maybe a Christmas in July theme or something?

This doesn't have to be at the place I volunteered at. But rather just an idea being thrown out there to see how many will be interested in such a meet?

Any other related ideas are more than welcomed as well.

sounds like the start of a good idea...keep us posted and let us know how we can help.

First thing to do is get a date set up so we can plan ahead.

Very good idea with the Christmas in July thing....

To continue on the plan...

Where are you guys located? Asking because I want to see where the central point for everyone would be. And if this is going to happen...it will be at least 6 weeks in advance. How many of you guys are interested?

Wow, this sounds really great actually. You can count me in to help out, im interested.

regionally would the valley / Burbank be centralized? Few from Valencia, canyon country, Santa Clarity. (3 names one place)

I can also provide a free site, domain, unlimited bandwidth if there was a need for promotional purposes. I have a full rack @ 1 Wilshire (main hub for Los Angeles)

Sure, I'll make it rain on them in the middle of summer.

The place that I volunteered at is a small place with a very small parking lot so I'm thinking of an organization like it that is a bit bigger and has enough space to house all of us and more kids. ROFL I remember almost getting in trouble for trying to organize a 'field trip' for those kids to HIN.

I'll be searching around and post up possible organizations and I guess we can vote on.

Thanks Long and Marcus for offering extra help. I think this will give the E90post forum a more respected name as well because not many forums actually do events like this.
