BMW Stealership at it again

2DCE and 2e0F apparently the rarest codes the forum has ever seen. Into 4 indy's and no idea what's causing it. Has to do with frequent adjustments in valvetronic causing the system to shut off. No symptoms other than when it first came up half check engine light, which is now gone along with 2DCE and only 2e0f is left as readable now. Took car into dealer, relearned start/stop of valvetronic 100$ later and it's fixed
3 months from then code comes up again with CEL take it to dealer they suggest replacing VVT/ECcentric shaft sensor for $3,400. I'm 9 months out of warranty and can not believe this. I found some who said the code went away with time, one who replaced his harness, and one who said its a software issue fixed with a software update. Apparently it's a dead end code and replacing all these parts may not even fix it? Obviously I would go to an Indy and not do the repair here, or atleast fight for a goodwill repair (lol goodluck with jb4+DP+FMIC) please someone guide me!

Funny how the wait until you are out of warranty to suggest a 3400 dollar repair.

+1. Three weeks out of my warranty I had a $5,000-$6,000 repair. After a little bit discussion the dealer opted to fix it under warranty because it was the same code that they apparently failed to fix a month earlier.

Good luck op

2011 59,000 Its apparenty a pretty rare issue. Im most worried about fixing the VVT/ESS and thats not what the issue is.

They relearned the system and it works without fault, when u actually start it up it throws 2D43 about valvetronic fault range? Something isn't right I don't think it's the motor or the sensor though.. Since before I went to the dealer I had 2DCE and 2E0F I'm getting multiple different codes at different times? Odd

Can't help, but my '11 M-Sport 335i started having a lumpy idle and then on the highway went into limp mode. After a restart all was well and no problems for several months now. The codes I had after the limp mode were 2DCE, 2775,2BEB, and 2DE8.
