Would a newly delivered JB4 G5 require firmware?

As per title, I'm just wondering if a JB4 ordered directly from the USA will require updating prior to fitting?

I'm assuming they will be up to date but thought I would ask before installing.

Cheers

Nope. You will need to fit it anyway to do any updates.

Yeah. Definatly. I would order it now and wait to fit the JB4. You can't do any logging or updating without it.

Was all set to fit it on Sat with a mate and I hate waiting when I've got car stuff to play with.

Can the cable be easily connected at a later date?

This. You need to rake it all out again to route the usb into the car! A propper ballache.
But it's not the end of the world. Once you have fitted it once it's a piece of cake.

This is true. I had to remove the 3 bolts in the box to get enough space to pull the USB through. I highly suggest popping the diode loose and updating to ISO firmware!

no need to cut diodes anymore. everyboard sold is ISO now. Since late 2013 i believe have an email from BMS somewhere with the details.

By no means am I arguing, and I have no clue when my board was made but it looked exactly like the one in the photo HERE. I cut the diode and changed the values and it ran fine. Hope I haven't messed anything up...
