Volcanic ash to reach ground level across UK. Cleaning??

I’m sure u all know about this by now if in case u dont ! Click here.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/8623950.stm

now the ash has been quoted as being a very fine particles like glass. So the obvious question is how would u tackle cleaning this stuff off your car if it does settle in your area??? i would'nt want to end up scratching the paintwork if it does settle on my car.

Same thing you do when you mit-wash the car I would hope... rinse with a hose or lance first?

Foam your car and rinse. Maybe repeat if you feel like it then do your usual 2BM wash with a lambs wool mitt.

soot and ash

cover your car w/ a coating of liquid soap. when it's all over just hose (maybe pressure wash) it off. body shops do this to the inside walls of there paint booths. when the paint builds up on the walls they just hose it off. of course you need to start w/ a good/fresh coat of wax.
