Advan - Cobb - Procede

Hi all
Had some time today so did some back to back testing with our 335, Cobb & Procede. All tunes are out of the box, so this is what you will get. They are both good but Procede makes more torque due to more boost at the start of the run. Cobb makes more power at the end of the run due to more boost from 5000rpm on.
have a look at the Dyno plots, Here we have Procede map 2 and Cobb Aggressive map 2

Stock V Procede
Stock V Cobb

Just so you know i like both systems.

Car is stock just has a BC drop in air filter

THIS IS NOT A WAR if it goes this way i will push the delete key

Great work Peter. Interesting results. Did you take the car for a drive with the COBB installed? If so interested to know what you thought of it.

Any plots of the COBB boost curve?

Nice stuff Peter, that is probably why I think the procede is more twitchy as it pushes out more boost in the beginning.

Have you guys got ATP to play with yet?

I'm curious why you used map 2 for the procede as map 2 is for a modified / fbo car?

also - the 240kw is at the wheels I assume? What does that translate to at the crank?

What are the torque figures please? I don't know how to read that graph?

Map 2 is more aggressive, it's meant to be for more modified cars but in reality stock cars can run map 2 in day to day driving with zero issues
No point seeing what the conservative tuning option will show, we want to see the tunes at their best.

Assuming 18% drivetrain loss that translates to 293kw at the flywheel with the Procede and 302kw at the flywheel with the Cobb.

Pete hasn't put the torque axis on those graphs, rather he's shown AFR & PSI so can't tell right now.

You hit the nail on the head Stue. Like you i cant see the point in playing around with the low boost maps i am happy with the maps that i have chosen for our testing, You and i both know we can play around with the tune from both systems to achieve what we want, i feel it is important to show the differences between Procede & Cobb out of the box without any tuning.

Thanks Stu - awesome insight.

So really, if I'm getting this right, a proceded 335i has almost 300kw and from what I've read previously approx 500nm - given an m3 has 309kw and 400nm the 335 should easily walk the m3...

You have transmission to take into account too, I tested my Procede'd 135i AT against a tuned E92 M3 on a private road and we were dead even out of the hole, and I felt like from a roll I had him..

Thanks for this skycat.

Nice comparo. I love to see local testing. U.S. Dynojets and mustangs will always read higher than the benchmark Dyno Dynamics used here. The delta is useful. It just means that much more when you see it in your own language so to speak.

It would be awesome to see the comparison as you go higher up in stages. You are at Stage 1 now:

Stage 2 Procede, Cobb = xxxxx

Stage 3 Procede = xxxxx

Stage 2+ Cobb = xxxxx

Then same for illicit meth users. That would be a very comprehensive local database.. at least for these 2 tunes.

Your impressions on driveability would also be invaluable.
