When I met my girlfriend, the best she could do at identifying cars was by colour. In the five years since we met, and with my enthusiasm for things with engines and wheels, she's got to the point of identifying different models of the same car, and correcting me when I'm wrong sometimes too. She can see the styling cues of fast cars and can tell impractical wheels because they leave tiny sidewalls. I've been very careful to always ask "why" when she makes a guess at something so I always encourage right thinking even if it's lead to the wrong answer because of incomplete information, so I've never put her off learning anything.

I've learned nearly as much about her passions as she's learned about mine.

I wouldn't say that I'm a total "car girl" and know a ton of stuff but I feel like after the last four years with my boyfriend, I've learned a lot about cars and whatnot after taking an interest in his interests. I didn't know much about cars or any of his other "guy" hobbies before, but after seeing that he was so interested and invested in certain things, I wanted to learn more so that we'd have more to talk about and things to do. so pretty much, just find a supportive girlfriend who treats you well and treat her well back and then maybe she'll slowly become a car girl

Not necessarily. I like cars, since I was young enough to play with Hot Wheels and Matchbox toy cars. I like men but I don't go sleeping around with every one of them...
