rear spacers only
I want to get rear spacers only, for a e93 with oem suspension and style 197 rims. This is purely for cosmetic reasons as the rear wheels are tucked inside the fenders pretty badly, but in terms of perfomrance/safety is this setup ok? do I need to add spacers to the front to balance it out. I don't want to be messing with any of bmw's setup and throwing off handling just to make the car look better.
on a side note, with the 197 style wheels should I get 12mm or 15mm spacers? I dont plan to lower it but i dont want any rubbing at all. |

I have style 193 18's on mine, but the offset is the same and so is the outside diameter of the tire, so it should be no different than what I am running.
I was running 15 mm's with the stock Bridgestones with no rubbing and no issues, but then I switched to PS/2's and they have a slightly more square edge profile and they rubbed just a tiny tiny bit on large bumps, so I switched to 12.5mm from Turner Motorsports. I can't really see the difference of the 2.5 mm difference when I changed one and not the other. My car has sport suspension on it. Rob

I ran 18mm spacers on my previous xdrive. Just the rears and had no problems for the almost two years I had the car. Had them on during both summer and winter. Also, currently running 16mm rear spacers and no problems... Both oem suspension, now 193 style wheels, not sure about the et though... Most likely et 35 rear. As far as I can tell from my own experience, you should be fine running just the rears.. Is it possible for you to test both spacers at a local shop/garage/your own garage?? Then see which is best. And the 3mm difference is not that much if you're running oem suspension. If lowered, the difference flushwise (is that a word?) will be more noticeable IMO... |

you will not have any problems, 12mm 15mm thats not going to matter, you wont notice 3mm difference. i have 12.5mm in the back, because they were laying around from my previous e90. i do have 5mm on the front but only because the bolts are silver, i do not recommend 5mm, if you do not tighten the bolts properly you could get vibration. if i were to buy spacers over again i would get 15mm and leave the fronts without.

I have no interest in spacers but would buy these if I did. The key is to be sure what ever you get that they come with fresh longer high quality bolts.

I have a 2012 335i with the sport suspension and 193 wheels. I have H&R Trak+ 15mm spacers with the extended bolts just on my rear. They fit perfectly, zero rubbing issues and make the wheels fit really really nicely.
I also have the stock run flat tires. I purchased mine through Alan and Gilbert and **********s. They offered a good price and were great to work with. I am sorry I cannot take any pictures. I broke my leg and am pretty much stuck on the couch. Getting across the house, down the steps and into the garage to snap a few pics is only a distant dream right now. 8 more weeks of no weight baring on my leg! Wahoo! NOT!!! Best of luck and I would highly recommend getting the spacers! Did notice better handling too! |

You'll need longer bolts for anything larger than 5 mm. Turner offers the option for longer bolts when you're adding to the shopping cart. They'll match the correct length for the spacer in either black or silver. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- EDIT: Here's a shot of my E92 with rear spacers (15 mm Turner Motorsport) and stock 189s. I'm on stock suspension and running 255/35 Bridgestone Potenza RE970AS. I chose 15 mm because I'll be lowering (mildly) soon and didn't want to worry about rubbing. Lowered with 20 mm spacers, one will have to consider tires more if/when replacing them. Chances are there will be no effect, but I didn't want to think about it. I think 15 mm fills out the ass well without disrupting the lines...but to each their own

I have a 2006 pre-lci and am looking at 12mm front and 18mm rear. Thoughts on this setup?
