Simple question - simple answer? :help:

A little help please - just acquired a '09 E92 and noticed the right exhaust tip is showing carbon deposit (dark inside the exhaust tip), but the left is perfectly clean.

Should I be concerned (fuel pump just replaced, but not sure how that could cause the problem)?

Any help greatly appreciated.

Its 100% normal. All 335's do that unless they have the golf tee mod (do a search on that term if interested).

They do use it, just a lot less than the other side. On WOT they are both used. The flap is use for noise dampening on start up and idle. You can use golf tee mod or upgrade the exhaust to get rid of this

I see this on 535's all the time, but not the 335.....mine did not exhibit this before I did the golf tee mod.

had my 335 08' didn't even know about the golf tee mod until the day before I traded it in for my 11' 335 and did the golf tee mod the first day!. Nevertheless both tips are covered in carbon deposit evenly.

Nope, perfectly normal. There is a flap in the left exhaust that doest open up until 2000rpm. You can go in the trunk and unplug the thing that controls it. That will make it louder and always stay open.
