E90 Best Riding Suspension
First of all, please don't get mislead by the thread title. This is not my first time researching this topic. I already have coil-overs, which I want to change from to a more compliant setup.

Current Suspension
Current issues
I am deciding to change in to a nice Cup-Kit. I do like my height with these coil-overs; however, the ride could improve a lot from my understanding. I know they have advanced coil-over systems that are over $2000.00, which would fix my problems completely. I have lots of miles on my car and I want to stay around $1000 mark for this change. I feel like the Koni coil-overs I have right now have stiffer springs than I want. I just want a setup that would be comfortable on highway. More like a OEM M-SPORT PLUS type of a setup.... What's the best riding cup-kit (spring + shock setup) for our cars, while giving a drop similar to what I have right now? 1. H&R & Koni Performance Suspension Cup Kit - Sport ? 2. H&R Performance Suspension Cup Kit - Sport ? 2. Eibach & Koni FSD Kit ? |

If its a compliant ride you're after, nothing beats Ohlins Road and Track in my opinion. Pricey, but a fantastic product...

I have the Eibach / Koni FSD setup and the ride is very similar to stock, but with improved handling and damping. It dropped the car about one inch, which was all I wanted. I know a lot of people are down on the Koni FSD shocks but I really like them, as they are a good "plug and play" shock. I found the Eibach pro kit with the Koni FSD shocks on sale for like $860.

1" drop from Sport height? At the moment, I am leaning on BMW Performance kit with BMW yellow springs. I feel like they have everything matching. |

Look under springs for spring and shock kits.

Koni yellows + Eibach prokits is what I went with. The drop is perfect IMHO and the ride is fantastic. See my garage for a roller pic that shows the drop with the above kit installed.

bilstein or nothing, that's what I say. Put any koni next to a bilstein and the choice is obvious. No one makes dampers like bilstein. With whatever springs you choose.

KW street comfort
Now you can end the thread Just saw op doesn't want coilovers. Eibach pro kit springs with koni sport dampers or that bilstein kit that has the pro kit springs

Ohlins going on mine tomorrow so +1. Money well spent and you won't have to worry about it ever again. Caveat. Many coilovers cannot be rebuilt. A handful can so 20+ years from now... Same suspension.
