I think technically you can't legally remove any emissions equipment. That said, the car will still pass the sniff test with just the primaries.

Im by Philly and want to take my secondaries out too. I have looking at using a sawz all to take the off at their original welds, gut the cats, then have them welded in the same way. This would allow for it to be gutted but not be visually noticeable. Also wouldnt have to have tubes bent up, etc.

Once you have the cat off you can break the innards. It is kind of difficult, but usually a long drill bit, punch and hammer, maybe dremel. WOuldnt be fun but did it on my Ford Turbo diesel truck and it took a few hours but well worth it. once theyre broken pieces will just fall out

No doubt. Let me know how it goes and take pics if possible. I just need to find someone to weld mine back in and ill cut them off instantly. It will be a pain but probably worth it. Power gains are debateable. One guy here dynoed an additional ten at wheels but who knows if its real or not. Heard makes it a tiny bit raspier too.

Are they just the secondaries? About to buy them and gut them then cut mine out and weld yours in. Are yours off a 330i? Would just need the secondary cats, no pipes or anything.

Im fairly good with welding and stuff of this sort so i could probably manage myself but i think ill just let the shop do it considering they can put a whole cat back system in for around $200
