V1 Hardwire into 335i/328i Coupes

I read this thread about wiring to the fuse box,

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...wire+valentine

and on my old vehicle (99 3.0 CL), I hardwired to the fuse box also, so this is very likely to work on the 335i right? Is the fusebox in the same location (if so it's the same instructions!)?

Thanks in advance.

It's going to be identical. Go for it. And thank you 1,000,000 times for searching first!!

EDIT: Fuse # might be different though, check the card first...

If the fuse box is in the same location, then this will be pretty easy. It should probably take 15-20 minutes. We just did this for my friend's e90 last weekend. Drilling for the ground wire is probably the hardest part.

Absolutely NO need to drill for ground. There is a torx bolt on the left there. Put an eyelet on the ground wire, and put eyelet under torx bolt, tighten bolt. You'll be all set..

I just followed the DIY guide for the fusetap radar install and they instructed to drill a hole for ground. Nonetheless it worked. Thanks though, I'll keep that in mind for my other friends' cars.

In that thread (page 6) I put up some pictures of my V1 install. I think its one of the best locations for it in addition to being the cleanest looking and easiest to install.

Weird bump; does anyone know where to get the fusetap in Canada? It's surprisingly hard to find. :/

Picus, if you really can't find it in a few, let me know I could pick one up and mail it to you...

I'm searching for an online source as we speak..

Thanks man, I may take you up on that; I would be happy to reimburse you for your time. I've called just about everywhere I can think of and for the most part the replies have been "I'm sorry, what?".

Haha, all checked out. It's on it's way - welcome to the joys of Canadian shopping. When we first moved here I was ready for it (since I grew up here), but my wife, who is American, was shocked at the lack of consumer product availability. It's not something you think about until you have to pay $20.00 shipping and $20.00 duty/brokerage on a $15 item.

Thanks again Josh.
