JB3 ***1.3*** Update Status
Just wanted to give you guys a quick update on the progress of 1.3 The beta testing has gone extremely well and we have had so much positive feedback [Thanks to all]. I have been told that 1.3 8D4 will be finalized at the end of the week
There are many new features on the table but at some point 1.3 needs to be released so any new features will be included in 1.4 The latest 8D4 represents an awesome tune and great upgrade over 1.22! For updates, ideally we'd like everyone to get or have access to a burner. It's cheaper and easier for everyone. As an alternative, you may mail a spare chip to us and we will burn it with 1.3 and mail it back. They are light so a stamp should do. We will pay the return postage. To take advantage of that ship to our office: US and INternational Customers can send their chips here BMS 22120 Clarendon St Suite 300 Woodland Hills, CA 91367 Canadian Customers please PM for the address As a second alternative we have listed chips with 1.3 burned on our website for $20. If you have any spare chips lying around please send them in so we can re-use them and we will provide you with a $5.00 store credit per chip Thanks Mike Last edited by Mike@N54Tuning.com; 05-12-2009 at 03:03 PM.. |

Ahhhh... customer service. It feels so warm and snugly when it's done right, like hot-chocolate on a winter's day..
Now go buy the burner bitches (or find someone local who has one)!! Makes updating a 30sec affair. |

Thanks for the update, Mike! I see that you have the PnP's now shipping with the v1.3. Do the pinout versions ship with v1.3 as well?

So if we have 1.22 right now, we can purchase for $20 the 1.3 chip off your website and replace? Is that how it works? The whole chip burner thing, while simple, i'd rather not deal with.

JB3 v1.3
8D_REV4 Map Guide Map 0: -- Disables JB3, all signals pass through Map 1: -- Low boost map, boost levels of 11-13psi depending on mods and weather -- Self adapts to modifications like intake, downpipes, exhaust, etc -- 91 octane RM2 or higher required. The higher the octane, the more power. Map 2: -- Performance map, boost levels of 12-14psi depending on mods and weather -- Self adapts to modifications like intake, downpipes, exhaust, etc -- 91 octane RM2 or greater required. The higher the octane, the more power. Map 3: -- Identical to map 2 with additional low end response (aka lagfix) Map 4: -- Hotter Performance map, boost levels of 13-15psi depending on mods and weather -- Self adapts to modifications like intake, downpipes, exhaust, etc -- 93 octane RM2 or greater required. The higher the octane, the more power. Map 5: -- Identical to map 4 with additional low end response (aka lagfix) Map 6: -- Designed to optimize bolt on performance -- 93 octane RM2 or greater required. The higher the octane, the more power. -- Richer midrange air/fuel ratios to sustain additional torque -- May trigger hidden tuner detection codes. Purchase a Bavarian Technic cable from BMS to scan for and delete any hidden codes before service. Map 7: -- Identical to map 6 with additional low end response (aka lagfix) Map 8: -- Race map -- 97 octane RM2 or greater required. The higher the octane, the more power. -- Modifications like intake, downpipes, and intercooler strongly suggested -- Lagfix enabled -- May trigger tuner detection codes Map 9: -- More aggressive race map -- 100 octane RM2 or greater required. The higher the octane, the more power. -- Intake, downpipes, and intercooler required -- Lagfix enabled -- May trigger tuner detection codes Map 10-14 (A-D): -- For use with modified JB3 boards only Map 15 (F): -- For use with tuning gauge only |

Excellent offer, I know I kept my v1.1 chip for some reason.....
Like V1.22, but happy to see what "smoother" means.

Can i use map 7 with just an intake and downpipes? Also you state that i should use 93 oct. Can I get away with shell 91 or do I have to start putting in sunoco?
