haha, is a Zebra black with white stripes or white with black strips? We don't know, same thing applies to HP until it shows it's true colors. Show me the numbers, don't just guess based on what the turbo could make on paper.
I highly doubt the ST market will suffer. Depending on budget and performance targets will decide what direction you go. I don't foresee big twins out performing a single any time soon. |

That is wht I was thinking....and all of this talk over 800+ Hp would need more fuel than are system can produce.

Has anyone bench tested these injectors to see what the max flow is and what the max pressure of the HPFP is? T |

So, this will fit inside the engine bay of a RHD 1M?

IMO injectors will be the last component that needs to be replaced. Incredibly over-engineered due to BMW requiring the fuel system be designed to run off low pressure's if need be.

I know they have a lot of headroom (that why some can run 100% E85), didn't think the over engineered them enough to go 800 Hp....but I guess it is possible.

Even if you are using the new lpfp vishnu is coming out with, we still don't know how much fueling the stock hpfp can handle, do we?

No but right now, the LPFP is dropping pressure. Once the LPFP is supplying the requested pressure to the HPFP, if the HPFP can't keep up then that'll be an issue. You've got to identify what's broken and fix that, then see whats limiting you once the first thing is fixed. Thats how this type of thing works.

I'm not saying it's not possible. There are more issues that need to be addressed with the N54 other than just dropping a set of big twins on the engine. If you can't fuel the engine you'll never see the numbers...

Well pro efi is coming out with a stand alone very soon so I'm pretty sure fueling is not an issue. Besides if shiv can fuel a single why wouldn't Cobb or BMS be able to fuel twins? There's already an upgraded lpfp in a couple cars pushing over 600hp.

My thoughts exactly Shiv seems to have his tuning for the single damn near dialed in looing at boosted newest update. That boost curve is flawless as far as getting to peak and just sitting there. If he can do it on a single and have only 9% fuel trims there is no reason Cobb or Terry cannot do it with all 4 O2's in near stock locations in the down pipes. This is all speculation right now, but soon it will come down to seeing how the tuning will come out.

Vishnu has the tuning covered already and Tony is in talks with them, so tuning is not a problem at all. Plumbing is the challenge.
Tony, comparing the compressor maps of gtx vs gt-series the advantage is in the area of the high pressure ratios. Supporting the high boost at N54 cr requires high octane + cooling. 4 meth nozzles and loads of e85 can do the trick. Procedeflash and the upgraded lpfp will provide all the fuel you need. I hope all goes well and gt(x) twins will be among the feasible good options. You talk about gtx2863r. How about gtx2860r? |
