i recently bought a used angel eye hid kit, followed the diy to install it and it all went pretty well, however i continue to get intermittent light errors. It seems to only be one side as well..im not sure if there is anything missing to the kit or the fact that my car is an early 07 model makes it extra sensitive to triggering light errors.

my question is would anything like these help me or would it really be of no use to me if i was to get a set of these..

Alpine HID's are known to be problematic. I would call Alpine and also ditch them. They will turn your angel eyes a nice yellow too after a while from the heat. Lux is the way to go.

im not saying you're wrong because im sure it will turn them yellow because of the heat at some point but there are some guys on the forum who have been running them for a while and haven't had theirs turn yellow yet, which brings me to wonder if there is even anyone out there with a e9x that can prove that their hid kit ruined their angel eyes. I mean a 35w is really not that dense for an open light housing with huge heat sinks and although people say an hid kit will ruin their angel eyes, fogs etc i haven't really seen anyone post their experience. With that said i dont see me paying $250+ for 2 bulbs and the brightness wont really be comparable to the alpine kit

edit: i also doubt alpine would have much of a solution since i got them used, i am really only wanting to see if anyone knows if these harnesses will help with the bulb warnings

There are plenty, just search yellow/yellowish+alpine+hid, I pulled mine out about a month ago when I read a thread from a guy that was a proponent of HID's and he posted that his turned yellow.

I should have done a more thorough forum search before I installed, otherwise I never would have taken the risk.

I really enjoyed the brightness but they really looked like blobs from a distance anyway, I will be installing Lux later this month, not as bright but better definition imo.

Yeah I PM'd a guy like 2 months ago when I was interested in the HID's. I deleted the message, but he strongly urged me not to buy them and he hated them because of the yellowing.

If BMW did not put HID bulbs in Angel and Fog lights there was a reason. These bulbs will burn things up, and the load resistors to cancel errors will get hot enough to fry eggs on.LED bulbs are the way to go without having to use error canceler's. In my experience LUX is the way to go.

I've been running HID angels for 3+ years with no problem. You need to find quality bulbs that filter the UV output. I had errors on startup for the left side which would go away after 10 secs or so. To fix it, they sent me a new set of resistors for that side and the error was gone. Which side is yours on?

I decided to ditch the relay harness and code out the errors and increase the voltage. If you have a coding cable you can try that. Makes the engine bay cleaner.

I just checked my resistors. Its 2 10 ohms running in series. This is for LCI. Not sure about your model.

I believe mine are in the passenger side and it comes and goes I usually get a light pop up while driving with a beeping sound every 5 mins or so. It's hetting extremelyannoying and cat figure out wwhat it is.. I love them they work great but that beeping and that light bulb popping up are killing me

I had problems as well. I thought it was the relay, but it wasn't. I'm not sure what the problem is, but I do not have the patience and time to swap parts out. It could be the resistor or a bad ballast.

I loved the kit when it was working. I spent extra money on UV filtered bulbs. Now, I'm back to stock and considering getting the GP Thunders and code them for extra voltage.
