Aquamist flow sensor 806-428

I just picked up this flow sensor at a crazy low price brand new for 60 bucks shipped...Brand new cost 189 and 7 bucks for deliver making it 196...I received the unit in the mail today and when I opened it up, I was surprised as hell..This unit is so small and I dont know what to make of it...Comparing it to my Snow performance unit it is dwarf in size...Size doesnt matter for some things but I am quite puzzled how this one will work better than the Snow unit safeinjection that I have which is 4X as big and has a metal casing compared to the Aquamist unit with plastic cover casing...I am having issues periodically with my Snow unit from heat..The location I have of the SP safeinjection is the same location used by FBIS, which is bolted onto a metal brace near the front driver side that protects the fuel lines running up to the engine bay...THat brace gets hot enough to make the safeinjection sometimes no show flow...Any how I saw this deal while surfing the web and this guy in Alaska has one that he didnt need with his kit so he sold it to me at a negotiated price of 60 bucks ship...Great deal but I looking at the Aquamist unit, I am skeptical is this will be better than the Snow unit...Here is a pic up against a small cigarette lighter!!!! The unit that I have states flow range of 100-1200ml/min and the new unit at Aquamist shows the label 100-1500 ml/min are the same just the labeling of the new one is different...Spoke to Jeff about it and he stated the one I have just has the old label on it and will show flow of 100-1500ml/min. This will be my back up plan if the SP unit continues to annoy the crap out of me!
If this unit works better than the Snow unit, I will be amazed as it proves bigger doesnt mean better, but better quality over quantity!
A couple of months back the unit sold for 145 but the demand and inflation jacked the unit to 189 plus 7 bucks shipping 196! Snow Peformance raised price from 159 to 172 but they get you on the shipping which lowest is 20 dollars which brings you to 192!

Anyone else experiencing heat issues with SP unit?

Yea I have that Aquamist flow sensor too. I now list on my site. Saves a lot of space and seems to be working good so far. That's a killer price.

works great and easy to install because of the small size.

Nice let us know how it works. I am having problems with my snow flow sensor too. It worked great for two days and now the flashers flash real fast and wont come back on.

Funny thing is spoke to tech at Snow Performance and I told him my setup of using a M7 and M10. He tells me that it's tooooo much flow for their sensor! I was quite puzzled and stated that it was ridiculous. He said if I use those nozzles together it will ruin the flow wheel!! It can only handle up to about 1200 ml/min! It cannot handle that much flow. I think it ridiculous but if that's the case, this flow sensor sucks. Aquamist unit, I spoke to Jeff at Howerton Engineeringmand told him my setup, and he said it would be fine on their sensor. Their flow sensor is 100% meth compatible and can read up till 1500 ml/min which is more than 2 M10 nozzles which I am far from. We will see. I guess I will have SP safeinjection as paper weight soon. This is getting ridiculous. I have gone through two flow sensor units and working on e third. Hopefully this is my answer. Complete BS. I am still on the defense of the Aquamist unit as the size and the encasing it is in, is not the most robust electrical item. Maybe it's a good thing it's plastic as it won't absorb heat like the Snow unit does as it's all aluminum casing retains heat. My unit when it gets hot, doesn't show flow. I am sure it's also the location that I installed it in. Metal on top of metal will create a lot of heat!

I had a short on my aquamist flow sensor board, different setup used on the hfs6. Howerton fixed it, been flawless ever since. I run 90% meth.

Wow I cant believe it wont support the flow of dual nozzle. So pretty much its no good to most of the people running meth on n54s due to most people running a dual nozzle set up. I agree with you I hope this snow flow meter does not turn into the whole labonete ordeal. Yours is mounted behind your rear bumper right? Mine is mounted in the trunk next to the controller. So I dont think mine is a heat issue. It stopped working at the track saturday so I am going to hook the laptop up today and see what happens. So are you going to give the aquamist a try? Dont you have to do some scaling changes with the aquamist? I thought somebody tried one and the flow numbers were really off.

No. I have mine installed in front of the chasis. The metal bracket underneath the car where the fuel lines runs up to engine. Problem is the bracket is metal and safeinjection is also metal which transfers heat to safeinjection. I am sure temps exceed 150 degrees. My location is a bad spot and probably the cause of heat issues but the flow maximum capability of this sensor based upon what tech is is BS

O ok for some reason I thought I read somewhere it was behind your rear bumper. Yes there is alot of heat down there so I am sure that could be a possiblitly of why it stops working in the heat. Are you going to try to relocate it?

Been using mine for a long time.....it's capable of running 2 large jets and a 3rd small one. My pump is located next to the flow sensor.

How many ml/min are you injecting? What flow number are you getting and imputing it on the procede meth injection %?

Started the process of changing the snow unit out. Freaking thing acts up when it get hot and doesn't show flow until You let the car cool down And the failsafe to cool. Unbelievable that this crap is not working right, it's also my location too but it's not any where the engine block. FML. Well see how the aquamist unit holds up once I install it. I am installing the unit right under the cowl, on the support brace. Freaking 3rd flow sensor and I hope the aquamist unit is my final unit. Praying

Almost done. Just need to wire it up now and put the under panels back on. Meth line was lengthened and now the flow sensor is at its new location. Easy access to change it out and troubleshoot then underneath the car! Freaking balls are frozen and had to cut short the install. 28 degrees is not fun! Hate winter

Maybe I will drive my car into your place to finish the install! Lying on a cold floor is not the ideal environment that I like to do installs. I just have to go back underneath to put the panels back on and then I am done with the floor. The compression fittings are so much better than push fittings. I dunno why all meth kits dont come with this as this solution is pretty darn leak proof...I guess the price of these fittings compared to the push fittings makes it not profitable for most meth companys. Wiring it up should be easy.

It's very unlikely for the Aquamist sensor not to work. It's very simple and robust inside, it has just a snail which spins due to fluid passing. There are no gaskets, seals, etc. The connection to the "outside world" is done using a Hall sensor (proximity sensor).

Yeah that's what I thought about the Snow's safeinjection. Lol. It looks 10x more robust than the aquamist unit does! We will see how this goes. Labonte unit and Snow units use the same hardware and flow wheel so maybe there is a correlation to shit parts. Not sure. Stay tuned

Well, I have my Aquamist sensor for like a year and it works perfectly. I used it with up to 80-20 meth/water.
