Has anyone gotten their intake valves and ports cleaned under warranty?

Just curious if anyone has been able to get this done under warranty (CPO as well). I have about 57k miles on mine and as of lately I've been experiencing some surging on acceleration on the stock tune as well as rough idle here and there. I am not throwing any codes and have replaced my spark plugs about 2k miles ago.

Just talked to Global Imports in Atlanta, and they said they would do mine for free because I'm under warranty. They said they would do it for the deductible on CPO cars.

Wow you are lucky. I just asked today and its not covered under CPO, so they wanted to charge me $760 plus tax lol.

Anyways, I had the cleaning done by some local BMW owners and I have to say that I am most definitely impressed with how responsive it is now. I definitely need to take it back to the dragstrip and see if I can trap 118-119mph on pump gas now with this.

I did a search on the forums and found out that the dealership had cleaned the intake valves for another forum member for free under warranty, so I called them and asked them if they would do it, and they said they would. I don't know if they'll decline it once they see my mods though.

From the dealership point of view, it's a win for them because they just bill the work to BMWNA, so they still make money. Or at least that's how I think it works. Correct me if I am wrong.

Update from dealership: I have caused utter confusion among everyone working here. Half the SA's are saying that they don't do this under warranty. So they called some techs. One tech said he would do it, but two other tech's said they shouldn't do it because there are no codes and I have mods. So, they are now calling a tech from BMWNA.

guy from BMW NA says that no warranty work is done unless there is a light indicating that said work must be done. On top of that, he claimed that an aftermarket charge pipe does affect the intake valves.

Bottom line is that you are not getting this done under warranty unless there is a ridiculous carbon buildup in under 50000 miles that causes misfires or if you have an in at a dealership.

Good luck, it didn't work out too well for me having it done under warranty, so I had it done elsewhere. It did make a remarkable difference in my case though.

The idea I got from reading posts on this forum saying their dealership did it for them is that you have to claim you have symptoms of a rough idle and/or hesitating acceleration for them to consider doing it, probably depending on if they find the claim true or not.

I've been recently experiencing rough idle when the car is stopped, ended up taking it to the dealer to have them change the spark plugs, have 48k miles on the car, they noticed the surging and offered to do the intake valve cleaning under my CPO, they walnut blasted it, and ones I got into the car my check engine light was on, walked right back inside and turned out my fuel ventilation valve had just gone bad in the 2 mins they drove the car to me, they also change that, and the car drives AMAZING now!

Mine is in right now having it done. I have 70k miles. I told them the car was hesitating and burping on the highway. The must have checked it and it was. 50 dollar deductible and all set. another dealer told me it was not covered.

Also for people to know it was listed on the reciept as a PUMA case and it references SIB 120212. I did not ask for carbon cleaning I just told them the symptoms and they did the diagnosis.

The first dealer wanted a diagnostic fee to hook it up to the computer. I asked for my keys and left that dealer never to return.
