Best gauge other than boost?
I want to try and get two gauges side by side in the ashtray. One will be the boost but what should the other one be? Anything thats real easy to hook up incase I need to remove them for warranty work or something.
Im getting a round boost gauge with peak recall. So id like to get the same brand for the other gauge. Usefulness doesnt matter. I just want something easy to hook up. Thanks

Nothing worth having is easy to install. You know you just can't take off your boost gauge. Most T into vacuum lines in the engine bay.

Because I want two gauges in the ashtray area not one. I think two looks cleaner and more professional. And there are lots of easy things worth having. Yes I know how a boost gauge works. Ive put many of them on all the turbo'd cars ive owned including many friends cars.

Get Rick's vent gauge for a boost gauge, then do Water temp and Intake Air Temp in the ashtray.

With the money you'll spend on 2 gauges and the time to install them in the ashtray, I think you'd be better off getting Rix gauge. It's actually functional and has a much greater "wow" factor. But if your dead set on putting 2 units in the ashtray, I vote AFR.

Everything else worth having (Wideband, EGT, Oil Press, etc) taps into something just like the boost gauge. Assume wideband, you would still be running a line through the firewall and then into a Bosch wideband sensor that taps into your downpipe. None of these are just "easily" removed and let's act like it was never there. If I were you, and definitely going with the dual gauge. I wouldn't worry about removing them for warranty work. That said, I would get the RIX gauge if you got anything.

I'm working on the same set-up and chose a voltmeter next to the boostmeter.
Easy to install and no drilling or whatever in the engine to hurt your warranty. I will get the performance steering wheel in the future which has watertemp. Gr, Mark |

Some gauge manufacturers sell an OBD II gauge. It might be good, then you can cycle through a bunch of readings and pick the one you find useful.
