Eibach pro B12 kit

Just installed my pro kit. Bit gutted with the drop tbh. Heres some comparisons:

Doesn't really look much lower in my eyes! I thought with the SE suspension it would be a massive difference. How's everyone elses look?

it should come down in time, also don't judge the ride yet, the bilsteins will smooth out over the first couple months.

This - you need to give it time to settle. Also why you should drive it around a bit prior to an alignment.

OK, thanks for the info guys. I'll see what happens over the next couple of weeks. I'm happy with the characteristics of the car. It feels a lot sharper in the corners now, its just the aesthetics I'm disappointed in.

daz was the b12 kit specifically for your model 3 series? did you use new strut mounts? if the kit was for a heavier model and you used new strut models, both can add to the height, but it will come down with time. have you got an alignment yet?

It's a 325i N53. I'd suspect it doesnt come much heavier! The kit I got didn't have specifics on the model, but I went of the axle loading. The specific kits say up to 1045Kg up front and 1200Kg rear. So I got the kit with the same rating. Starting to wonder if the springs are wrong

Wont be gettting an alignment until I get my wheels in january.

How does the car handle? Did you have stock springs/shocks before?

Can you give us a small review?

I have had my B12 kit on my 335 for about 80,000kms now. The drop is perfect and definitely lower than yours. It does settle but not much at all to be honest. Handling is exactly what I wanted from this setup. You can search for my write up along with pictures etc.

I would honestly be double checking that you have the correct B12 kit along with double checking the installation because your front end is sitting too high for sure. And no amount of settling over time will fix that.

I'm going to hold off a review until I get my height sorted, but I am impressed by the ride! It is a touch sharp but if what everyone says is true then it will soften up perfectly soon!

I think I'm going to get in touch with the seller, they had my car details before they processed the order so if some things not right I'd hope they'll own up!

Thanks guys!

OK I'm a bit lost on this one. The part numbers on the springs themselves appear to be correct, fronts being 11-20-013-02-VA. I've checked the part numbers on the Eibach website to be sure. Maybe I expected too much out of them?

Here's another picture today. Still looks a little high to me -

how about the part number on the shocks? Is it possible you got B6 instead of B8?

I'll take a wheel off when I next get chance weathers a bit poor here at the minute, just out of curiosity can someone with eibach pros measure me the arch to centre of wheel measurement? I measure 360mm lowered.

EDIT: The box seems to have the right number. 46-180551

OK sorry for the flood of messages but after seeing another post today it got me thinking about bump stops.

We re-used the oem bump stop on the rear as there was too much thread sticking through the car on the Bilstein's to put the rubber cap on the strut tower.

Did we do wrong?

EDIT: The part we re-used was the cup

sounds like you did do the rear wrong. the bilstein bumpstop should be under the blue dust cap, not attached to the top of it like the oem. then on top of the blue dust cap you put the metal cup (cup side down), then the bottom section of the top mount, then the rubber grommet over that - that now goes into the body hole, then on top of that from the trunk you screw down the foam rubber top mount with attached nut. so this could explain your rear issue.

this really makes me wonder if you got the B6 shocks, they are longer, so with the shorter pro kit springs, maybe the shocks were too long?

what about the front? How'd you guys do that one?

Why would shocks make a difference in ride height? Springs are what support the car, not dampners.

yes for the most part, but bilsteins have such high gas pressure they take load off the springs and will raise the height, especially if his car is sitting on it's bump stops. if you read some of the bilstein reviews here you will see many talk about a ride height increase.

Daz. the front bilstein have internal bumpstops. you don't add any. you probably didn't because the shafts diameter of the bilstein is way to large to put the oem ones on.

What about the rear bumpstops with B6? I have the box with all the old parts the shop gave me, and I see 4 bumpstops in it. Do the rear B6 reuse the OE bumpstops, or does it come with its own bumpstops?

Would that explain why the rear of my car is so bouncy now after the B6 install? I have no bumpstops in the rear?

Harry

Edit: I also see a black dust boot on the rear shocks, not the blue one they came with. Did they remove the blue ones and put the OE dust boots on? Or put the black ones on top of the blue? Why would they do that?
Sorry. I do not mean to hijack the thread.

the bilsteins for the rear should come with their own bumpstops that are used underneath the dustcover.
