Im also looking at several 328i coupe within the 60k-80k mile range $15k-17k. I want to get sports package on that also, does the sport package make a huge difference in these coupes? I will have to pay more out of pocket. Is it smarter to buy the car with less miles or buy the 330i with more? I love the 335i but i don't want to go into a money pit of repairs. Also I'm don't really know how to drive stick but i can pick it up quickly, is stick really that much more fun when driving??

the 330i is a good car, but.. I wouldn't want an automatic myself.
am I the only one who couldn't care less about LCI? why doesn't it have service records? has the waterpump been replaced? starter, battery, tensioner & belts? 96k is about when all that stuff needs done. |

great package overall for a car, however annoying maintenance/known issues will pop-up more than one would expect, even from a bmw, and guessing the risk is higher if no bills to prove that some of those things have already been taken care off... personally, even though I love my car, if it would be to do it again, I would buy something else...
but I might of fallen a bad number... but than again seeing the f ed up issues people have with them on this board.... sometimes I'm happy I have none of the "weird" issues. |

haha. I prefer the LCI headlights and hood, but the earlier rear end (with blacklines) and front bumper with the OEM splitters.
I just did the splitters and swapped to LCI headlights after a spider got in one of mine, spun a bunch of webs, and then died inside. something like this, but with LCI headlights |

Id even pay a few hundo extra for it if they let you do this. Valve cover gasket, oil filter gasket, trans gaskets.....we get fluid leaks that cost a lot to fix & they are really only $10-35 parts/gaskets. its the labor that kills, so having them make sure those few killers are GTG would be well worth your time + money.

Pre LCI bumper is better, LCI headlights and hood are better. Taillights (blacklines) on the Pre Lci can gook nearly as good as LCI, but it isn't that big of a deal.

that being said, I'm thinking of changing the car for something newer/more economical as well and finding it very hard to depart myself from this car.... |

I'm looking to upgrade to a 335 from my 330 but I'm in FL. I love my 330. Power is fluid, steering and handling is top notch. I've done a couple upgrades...

I bought my 330 6 tears ago with like 55,000 miles. I knew I would have it a long time, which is why I wanted the highest output yet most reliable 3er I could find.
That meant I only wanted a stick and sport pack. No nav or other things that could give me trouble down the road. 165,000 miles now, very reliable. It needed a starter around 70k. Of course there is a lot of maintenance in the suspension, and I did a proactive water pump. Thats it. Would do it again. Still looks new and makes me feel like a million bucks when I get in and drive. Great in the snow, great on the track and every where in between. I love this car.

[QUOTE=TheSt|G;18364824]It's a pretty heinously ugly car prior to the LCI(and this is using a Press photo of it):
Meh - the 2-piece kidney grilles are the worst part. Looks like a bad mustache. But black kidney grills make it much better. Pre-LCI mirrors look way better. And I actually like the pre-LCI bumper and hood better too. But like many, it isn't that big of a deal to me. |
