I hope you boys haven't cursed us. The year I bought "something for the summer" we had the wettest summer since records began. Better luck to you both.

Same here, but don't worry, I wasn't going to be beaten by UK weather so I bought a set on winter tyres! Doh!

I have a 10th anniversary mk2 MX5 and it always puts a big smile on my face, you have to take it for what it is. If I was driving to the other end of the country I would take the E93 335i.

It's more reliable than the 335 as well, which I should be collecting from the garage for the 6th time! They have had it almost 2months.

I owned a 3.0 Z4 for 4 years, it was a lovely car, but my mum's MX5 always felt way more like a sports car, apart from the sound. She had a SLK before the Mazda and it was an awful car

Very nice.

Just imagining a warm summer evening and an empty county road that leads you to a nice country pub with a beer garden.....Sigh, I need some sunshine!

hmmm...i wouldn't call an mx5 a "true sports car".

It is a "fun little roadster" but not a sports car.

I test drove one ages ago, and it had lots of body roll and acceleration didn't feel much "alive". But it was very good fun with the roof down and it is very small.

I would take an S2000 anytime!

Sorry OP, enjoy your car!

Great car in its day. But I wanted a folding hard top and even the youngest s2000s are getting old and leggy.

Yes this is the MK3.5. You can have cloth or folding hardtop. I prefer the look of the hardtop and love the clever engineering that it has. Negligible weight gain / raising of the centre of gravity.
Job done!
