Anyone try a stock 330i DME on a 325i?

AFAIK, the dealership is the only place that can code a DME to your car's VIN, and I don't think they can (or will) code a 330i DME to a 325i. Just swapping the computers won't work though.
unless maybe one of the tuners has figured out how to do it. |

no worries, I have a buddy who works for BMW.
I want two DME's mainly for smog purposes and because supposedly the 330i's programming (and intake manifold) is the only thing that separates it from the 325i right? |

The computer for the 325i and the 330 are the same part number. it's just the programming that is different. Both are MSV70.
Also, the 330 and 325 have the same model auto trans. Part numbers are slightly different, but the actual model is the same. The 328i uses a different model transmission and DME Last edited by mike-y; 10-25-2010 at 03:16 PM.. |
