Engine temperature... how do you know it is ok?
With the E90 range, how do you know if the engine is running at the correct temperature and not to cold? My Golf has a temperature gauge and when that started reading low I changed the thermostat. In my BMW 330i I have no idea. Is there any way to have the engine temp displayed?

It's a hidden menu.

Not too difficult to get the coolant temp up before you set off for work. |

I have still not managed to run through the menu system but will do it this weekend. The BMW has just thrown the block screen wash filter special at me so I need to sort this quickly first!

I have this very versatile tool. Total cost about £30 (Torque Pro app plus bluetooth OBD2 dongle from Amazon) plus your existing Android smart phone; Galaxy S2 in my case.

or you could fit temp gauges and get the gauge pod that goes in the ash tray / sunglasses holder . I've seen gauges that light up like the dash clocks ....
or am I turning back into a 17 year old |
