Strange Pattern of Oil Consumption
My oil level dropped by 3 blocks (on the digital gauge) in the 1st 8000 miles.
I think my dealer topped it up when I had my door dent fixed - because afterwards it read full for a few days. Whats strange though is that in the last couple of weeks it dropped pretty quickly down to the minimum. I stuck the bottle from the little bag in the boot in on Friday night and it's now reading maximum. Just seems strange - it didn't use much at first then it gobbled up a while bottle in a few days. Does this sound weird to you ? |

In the boot on the right hand side I have 2 little BMW zip up bags. One contains the first aid kit. The 2nd is stuck to the side of the boot with velcro and contained a little bottle of motor oil - exactly the right size to top up from min to max. |

I've done 14,000 miles and my oil steadily dropped over the first 7,000. I had an oil change and its still on full. No fluctuations seen on mine to date.
