Don't sing the death nell of the M3 so fast. I think you're a little premature.

Maybe, but at least they're not exact copy-offs of the real thing. There's at least subtle differences in the M-Sport kit. Sure, you might have to have an eye for these things to see them, but they're there.

I still think the badge is ridiculous, even if it is only in the US. Think about it, why the f*ck is there an AMG badge on the back of a C300? Is it justified because of some added plastic? I don't think so. But hey, that's just me.

Especially that the 3-series with a flash is crazy fast and to add tii is where it is at. Too bad the new M3 will be dated so soon, but will always go down in history as the last true M3.
Dated soon? Jesus....rain on the parade bro

would getting a tii be worth it over modding your car with aftermarket parts? i still don't see much of a point to the tii unless there are weight savings and other performance differences that makes more sense coming from the factory instead of the aftermarket.

You can prob get the same stuff that's aftermarket for less. I bet you that this tii stuff will be waaaay overpriced.

^ I'm sure there will be differances that are difficult to purchase "aftermarket" in the same way that a ZHP is worth the $$ over a normal e46 330i...

My guess would be...

-Anthracite headliner (mucho $$ if purchased from BMW after purchasing a car without)
-Extra "sporty" suspension (most likely lower and stiffer than a normal "sport" model)
-Pre-painted and installed body kit (I wouldn't want a kit that someone painted and then put on, OEM or bust)
-Possible Alcantra steering wheel and shift/parking break boots (I say "possible" because BMW replaced so many they might not go that direction again)
-Still not sure how they will extract "extra" horsepower, if by chip or other. My ZHP has different cams in it that gives the car an extra 10hp over a normal e46 330i
-etc, etc, etc,

It'll be worth it to some that will care about those small details, to those that do not, chip your 335i sport and have fun...

if we can all refer to the post in the general section regarding the tii version, one of the member recall that this news is directly copied from a german auto magazine, which means that this update will most likely happen only in German.

I don't know what possibility we will ever see a tii to the state, but i guess anything can happen right?

the tii makes perfect sense in europe because they don't really care about cross market competition from the same brand, why? because they already have that alphina B3 competing with the M3 in a way

don't count on the next M3 having a 4.8L TT motor. BMW has already indicated that they intend to bring the next M3 back down to 6 cylinders and are considering turbocharging it. They have clearly stated that their goal is to reduce the number of cylinders in the M cars a few times now.

By the way, the tii models will focus mostly on light weight ideas. BMW will likely even ditch the 6 cylinder turbo motor from the 1-series in favour of a lighter 4-cylinder. The 3-series will get what as a motor in the tii trim? Who knows.

Hmmm... a lighter version of the 1'er with a turbo 4... that's pretty interesting.

Wow.
That'll make my choice VERY hard for a graduation present to myself when I get done with my Pharm.D. Right now I'm thinking M3, but if the 1 or 3 Tii is appropriately badassed, it might very well be that...

??

This isn't new to the 3er line...

e36, M-Tech
e46, ZHP
e90, tii

The tii will not be "better" or more expensive than an M3, it will fill the small gap between the 335i and the M3. My ZHP's ZHP option was $3,900 over a non ZHP 330i, I would expect to see a similar price for the tii option...

There is no AMG badge on the back of the C-CLass sport package in the USA either. The only C-CLass then gets an AMG badge is the AMG C63.

No way. I just saw two C300s in one day with the AMG badge on the back of them. Trust me, I know what I see. I had to have a double take because I nearly shat my pants thinking they were C63's. I'm not stupid.

Not saying you're stupid, just saying you don't get the AMG badge on the C-Class sport. Just go to the mbusa.com site and take a look at the gallery. I was just at my dealership the other day looking at them and I didn't see one C-Class Sport with an AMG badge. Owners can buy AMG badges, just like people can buy M badges, and put them on their car. Here's the back of the C-Class sport.

Hmm...well...this is interesting then. First off sorry for mistaking your text. Second, I am still a bit confused. I dunno. Whatever the case, the badging bothers me.

It used to bother me (M badge or AMG badge on a regular model). Now I don't care, but I still don't get it. However, I'll stop this because I don't want to hijack this thread.
