Unhappy Gas brands to use with Procede

I know that they recommend using "major" gas brands when you use the Procede, but has anyone used Costco or Sam's gas with the Procede since gas prices are now going through the roof?

I would strongly reccommend not doing that. Nothing screws up a procede tune faster then a bad tank of gas.

I only use Chevron or Union 76...in fact...right now I have a half a tank of 100 octane. I would never put Costco/Terrible Herbst/Valero gas in my 335i...those stations should only sell gas to soccer moms in Minivans.

Shell 93 ONLY. Ive seen a 15WHP difference on the dyno with shell vs chevron.

I knew you had to be my long lost Northern California twin!

How much is the 100 up there? Its running... gulp... $8.50 down here.

And I still run it. Sometimes 100%.

At 8.50 I'd switch back to 50/50 with 91.. I complained when it recently went up to $5.69..

I use Shell when I can, but I stick with Mobil 1 for the most part. I stay away from Costco, Sam's, Conoco, Valero.... Anyone use Phillips 66?

Yeah. Sometimes its only 91. Sometimes its 50/50. But every now and then I go treat the car to some pure, unadulterated 100.

Agoura Hills? Much too far to go from West Los Angeles. Are you quoting 5.99 for Unocal 100 octane? Great price if so.

There is one 76 station at Barrington and Pico that has 100 Octane for $8.50. That's the only location in Los Angeles that I'm aware of that is selling over 91 gas.

76 gas has always worked very well in my car. Vishnu recommends 76 gas with their procede. Shell also works well from what I've heard.

Just don't touch Shell in Los Angeles. Similar for poison in your car.

Shell in Los Angeles is by and large gas farm gas. As is Mobile, Exxon, Texaco and a lot of other crap. Chevron and 76 are actual brand based and not farm bought. But being brand based doesn't always equate "good." Take for example "Arco." You're better off taking a leak in your tank.

Even if you can save 40 cents a gallon by going to costco that only adds up to around $250 a year in savings. Not to mention that the costco around here has huge lines for gas. You'll easily spend 20 to 25 minutes waiting vs. drive up and pump at a 76.

-So either your time is worth around 10 bucks an hour or;
-$250 spread out over a year is seriously going to affect your finances or;
-Your a cheap bastard who's willing to compromise performance (the #1 reason for buying you car in the first place) to say a few bucks

If any of these is the case then maybe you need to reconsider owning a luxury-performance car.

Absolutely agree +10000. I get it all the time from BMW customers, "why can't I run 87 octane in my car, it's so much cheaper". But if you really do the cost analysis, you're only saving 20 cents per gallon between junk gas and premium gas. On a 15 gallon tank you will save $3, big woop. If you can't afford an extra $3 per tank then maybe you should look at the nice honda civic at the dealer down the street.
