If you're a BMW fan and want the peformance, but at something of a lower cost, try a 135i. If you only have 3 in your family the back seat works fine. If you have more than three and need to transport them, well then you're looking at sedans. In that price range the only sedan that will be more fun and yet livable would be a stripped M3, but taxes and a couple of options will put that at the edge of your wallet. Go drive them.
