year? model?
I wouldn't recommend a 255 on a 10.5" wheel, based on the year it may not handle a 10.5" on the rear, and definitely not on the front. -Phillip Wilmeth BMP Design |

On your 128i? Wrong forum. On a E90/92? Do a 265/30. |

Traditionally speaking, when manufacturers publish the spec on their wheels and stamp the dimensions on the spokes it is from bead to bead since that is the technical requirement for the tire fitment. Some retailers will publish actual width which would be from lip to lip which can be .75" to 1" wider than the manufacturers published bead to bead width.
Taking that into account that would mean that the lip of a 10.5", wheel should be closer to 11.5" but lets call it 11" since we don't know for sure, would sit about 4" from the face of the rotor and 7" from the face of the rotor to strut with a +35 offset. Is it possible, probably, but that would be a pretty tight fit especially when turning. There are also variances to the year model, the rear end was redesigned with the LCI midway through 2008 that calls for tighter restrictions on wheel offsets. Quote:
