Oil frequency?

I have a 08 335 xi with 24,000 miles. I bought it in late July with 17,000 miles on her. BMW CPO car. Every 1,000 to 1,500 miles she needs oil? Cars been reprogrammed twice, wastegates adjusted twice, and the last trip they replaced three of the injectors. The dealership has fixed everything that can be fixed and still the car burns oil. Where is the oil going? Is this normal wear? I come from the family of VW and Audi and have never heard of such a thing.

I've owned 4 brand new cars and never had to put oil in them...never. Does your oil light appear?

I had the oil light come on at something like 15k miles. But not 1500.... That sounds pretty excessive. The low oil is 1 litre so to burn that in 1000-1500, it sounds pretty high for a modern engine.

I drive to work and home...about 30 total miles everyday. I don't race or rev high and it's all highway miles. I might get spirited on a night drive home but nothing that would cause this.

20k on mine and it has never been low enough to add. 1qt ever 1k is alot of oil to either leak or blow by. Without seeing any smoke I would guess you have a leak somewhere.

YES, but this is a bit excessive. Sounds more like an RX-8 than a 335

Absolutely not normal. Get the dealer to diagnose and fix it under warranty.

I was just about to make a thread on this... I just put in half a qrt. 3 weeks ago.

Checked it today and it was half qrt down. Will tapp off again, since bmw forgot to after my last serivce for frickin brake light warning on 3rd time. And I asked them to top off the oil,,, they didnt,, I did.

So 4 months left on my lease,,,,, if its an issue, they can have it back. Im looking at a 2010 audi TT-S.......

By the way ,, off topic, are wheel alinements covered under the 4 yr. no cost maintence program? I know this is a joke , esp for the 15,000 oil changes intervals.

Wheel alignments are not covered by normal 4 year / 50k maint. agreement. I had to pay for one last visit. $100... they told me it was a discount.
