JB3 2.0 data logging cable install
hey guys,
I just installed a gen 3 board and the cable but now i'm not sure how to go about the whole installing the software on the computer and customizing map 1 and all that. I connected the usb cable to the computer and downloaded the zip file with the software, but now on the software "read me first" file I didn't know how to do this step or if i even needed to do it: "1) Download and install the appropriate JB3 cable drivers on your laptop from here: http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm" NEXT, i opened up the JB3 software and now i'm not sure if i need the car on or whatever to change the chip's parameters or even if anything is going to happen when i change things on the computer to the chip (i'm pretty much not sure if the jb3 software is actually hooked up to the chip, if that makes any sense)... Finally, Is there a thread that gives a guide for people like me on how to customize map 1 to get the most performance out of my mods and it still be somewhat safe at the same time? thanks, Matt

it doesnt matter if the car is on or not, cuz you can tune on the fly but make sure your jb3 chip is updated to the jb3 software. heres a thread that shows u the values of each map then you can play and tweak to your needs http://www.n54tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7198
hope that helps..any other question

Install the correct usb software from that website.
Make sure you find what port the cable is reading from then open the JB3 software and under settings, put the correct port on there. I stumbled on that part as well.
