Synthetic oil for 335i, good for 10,000+ miles. Or not.

Run was 8k miles after an early 2k miles change. If you wait till the computer tells you to, you're insane. Just more data to support that you need to change early and often.

Thx for the info.

Your findings are certainly supporting all of our previous years of experience with cars, especially high performance.

BMW is just being stupid and cheap.

Ok seriously mods, this is getting a bit annoying, this is an N54 engine discussion, not a maintenance discussion.

I dont think it looks to bad for a first oil change. Aluminum, Iron, Cooper are always high on the first one. Did you get the test that tells you how bad or good the oil was.

It wasn't my first change, It was my second after I preformed a 2k oil change.

Sorry i didnt see the 2K change. I think 2k is to early meaning your engine was not fully loose.

Right, the metals were high in that change too.

The point is people going 10k miles on ONE fill is a BAD idea.

what other manufac. gives you free oil changes in general? i mean heck one out of every 3(assuming 15k oil changes split to be every 5k) is free...i think you can handle the rest on your own...

My dealer said 15k. and thats what im doing lol. I leased my car so I just do what the dealer tells me to do, maybe if I bought it I would give it extra treatment.

I got a free oil change at 20k and 40k miles............

Inspection I at 30k+ miles.......wasted a whole day....and all they did was inspect the car.

I could have done that myself.....if I knew that's all they did.....

When I took mine in for a change at 1300, my SA gave me the "are you stupid?" look, said it was a waste of my money when I insisted.
