First of all, I know I should have read the reviews before I bought a 320i but have not really had a problem engine wise and it runs fine ( 2008 model & had it 18 months )
My issue is that I can hear a whistleing noise when im driving between 20 -30 Mph, anything faster and the wind noise would drown it out. This noise occurs when its under power or coasting.
Im fairly confident that its not a bearing which is normally a humming noise and the drive and handling is fine.
I have read similar threads over the last few months but none really got to the bottom of the issue, a couple suggested it may be an issue with the diff which is apparentley common, but I cant find out any more info re the diff issue.
Any advice or suggestions would be appreiciated

Again just to be clear its a light whistling noise, like a kettle steam whistle but not as loud.

P.S have found a good independant in Sutton Coldfield area of West Midlands
