Where are the good workshops at in Aus?
Keen to get a list of trusted workshops, Australia wide, that forum members have dealt with compiled together. Obviously a lot of the members here are from Syd/Melb so names like Advan, Active, Southern get thrown around but if anyone else has a place they would recommend please share.. I also get asked about places to recommend people in Canberra, Adelaide etc and have no idea so keen to hear from the more regional people as well.
Just list workshop name and suburb and I will google the rest of the info and update this first post NSW / Sydney Advan Performance 28 Hampstead Rd, Auburn, (02) 9648 3366 http://www.advanperformanceeuro.com.au/ Hills Eurohaus 74/4 Hoyle Ave, Castle Hill, (02) 9899 6618 http://www.hillseurohaus.com.au/ VIC / Melbourne Active Motorwerke 96-98 Highbury Rd, Burwood, (03) 9808 4909 http://activemotorwerke.com.au/ Southern BM 2 Elna Ct, Moorabbin, (03) 9555 4049 http://southernbm.com.au/ Worx Automotive 353 Albert St, Brunswick, (03) 9387 4440 http://worxauto.com.au/ QLD / Brisbane Rencal Motors 3/256-258 Musgrave Rd, Coopers Plains, (07) 3255 6134 http://www.rencalmotors.com.au/ QLD / Gold Coast WA / Perth Galvsport 2/85 Guthrie St, Osborne Park, 0405 443 412 http://galvsport.com/ SA / Adelaide BM Wise 32-34 Kintore St, Thebarton, (08) 8354 2028 Michael McMichael 29 Stepney St, Stepney, (08) 8362 4788 http://www.mybmw.com.au/contactus.htm BM Connections 453a Greenhill Road, Tusmore, (08) 8333 3269 http://www.bmconnections.com.au/ ACT / Canberra Anthony Costello Automotive 9 Albany Street, Fyshwick, (02) 6280 9233 Advanced Tech Automotive 91 Prospect Court, Phillip, (02) 6281 0866 http://advancedtechauto.com.au/ TAS / Hobart NT / Darwin Last edited by Stuart@BMRAutowerkes; 09-27-2015 at 06:48 PM.. |

QLD:
Rencal in Coopers Plains: Mechanic drives a shop modified 135i. Been there to do most mods recently. They have multiple loan cars. Great work. Finish the work in the quoted time. Can get after market parts quickly. Westside BMW: Have done 2 sets of turbo swaps there. Quick email replies. Always finish the work on time. Installed after market FMIC, oil coolers, etc. When I gave them aftermarket LHD downpipes, they just marked with an "X" where I needed to weld a bung and I just took i to an exhaust shop in my lunch hour. Had the car returned in the quoted time. This is from a dealership!

Literally cannot recommend Advan to anyone now after speaking with Peter today. Been his client for 2 years, unbelievable how he treats his clients.
Thanks Peter I will take my business elsewhere. FYI, if you want work done at Advan make sure there is no MISCOMMUNICATION , because there seems to be a lot of that at his workshop. |

Why is it that people think that because you own a BMW they are the best car on the planet. Well truth be told guys they are not, they fail like anything else the electronics can be a nightmare. So when something goes wrong who do you blame the MECHANIC, there is no misscommunication here its just one party wont listen. When i know its not us i will say so, if it was us i am always happy to sort it out. My customers that know me well, know i am a fair Business person and will go out of my way to help, sometimes a long way. In your case you are a very rude person who wont listen or even try to understand what actuality goes on with your car. If you cant find another shop that can help, you are always welcome back Good luck regards Peter . |

My BMW is only ever touched by Advan performance. I use to take my s15 to Adcan back in the day when they were on silverware road.
I even remember when they use to have live camera feed into their work shop. Bring that back Pete!! |

I've heard of a few shops around Adelaide but have never taken my car there so can't accurately comment as I usually just haggle with Adelaide BMW. Only had a prepurchase done at Michael McMichael who comes recommended but his attitude can be hit or miss.

BM Central,296 Barkly st. Brunswick,VIC
Manager-Rob Giacomelli. Got my VCG and OFH gaskets done there for around $350 in labour. Their labour rate is $99 p/h. did not object to me supplying own parts. very good workmanship and very friendly staff. And more importantly no more leaks. Highly Recommend. http://www.bmcentral.com.au/ Last edited by TK323; 11-26-2014 at 09:21 PM.. |

I think galvsports is more import car based.. Never got any replies on two occasions for my car. BM techniks (bmw specialists) http://www.bmtechniks.com.au/ Pace autowerks (euro specialists) http://paceautowerks.com.au/ I cant remember the exact labourr rate/ph but pace was the cheapest. |

Adelaide Workshops
Adelaide Workshops
I have tried them all, each one good for different reasons. Michael Mc Michael - Good but thinks he's the best. $150 per hour labour! BM Wise - Frenly bunch, used to take my e30,34,36 there. I have only used them to fit accessories for the 335i so far BM City - Big time conman IMO. Work may be good. Asked him to diagnose and quote some issues on my e30 ages ago and he pulled the head apart and gave me a quote. Obviously once its open you have to get it done! Work was good but I never went back BM Service - Small one man show, great bloke, allows you to bring your own parts. Hve not used him but I know people who have and are very happy. Enzos - Not a BMW specialist, does ferraris, porsches, vw's, mercs but is quite alright. Also happy to do work if you provide the parts. Good cbd location. Reasonable hourly rate. Hope this helps |
