335xi vs 335i xDrive... am I wrong? or are these dealerships?

There was a post a while back on here about BMW NA telling someone there were 3 forms of the 335i... 335i, 335xi and 335i xDrive.. basically everybody laughed in the and said that was wrong..

how I saw it was RWD 335i, AWD 335xi... this dealer is advertising for a 2009 BMW 335 i xDrive .. the badge on the car is for a 335i.. so is this as the post described? RWD just with traction control to all four wheels.. or did BMW change the model name after the LCI updates?

been lurking here for a pretty long time, thought I had my head around pretty much all basic E9X information like this but this I'm just confused.

2016 BMW 435ix  [0.00]
Used to be the rear badge would either state 335i or 335xi, 328i or 328xi

Then in 2009 they changed the rear badge to state simply 335i or 328i - if it was the AWD version they added a front fender badge under the side marker light that says 'X Drive'

So old versions went by 335xi, while the new versions go by 335ix or 335i X-Drive

In the end - no matter how you arrange the letters - they are the same thing

I just took delivery of a 2012 335i Z Drive. The badges are exactly as stated above - 335i on the rear of the car and X Drive on the sides.

So, does your 2012 335 Z drive have 335IZ on the trunk or 335i on the trunk with the Z-Drive badge on the side?

Best typo today, you were thinking about Nissan when you were typing, weren't you! Thanks for the good laugh
