Question PROcede Rev II CANbus questions

I bought a used PROcede Rev II CANbus from someone in this forum (and out of warranty, obviously).
The packaging says 6AT. My car is a manual transmission car.
Will this product work on my car?

I was reading the instruction on How to upload maps or firmware into my PROcede.
Where do I connect the 9-pin serial port cable? Do I connect it
directly to the OBD2 connector?
I am very confused here. Thank You

I believe they ship auto maps on all the units since auto works well on both manual and auto. You get a little more out of the manual map on the manual transmission because of the softening in the auto map. You are fine to run the auto map on the manual trans.

The serial connector plugs into the serial port on the procede harness.

Many people run the cable through the firewall so they can update maps from the laptop in the car instead of having to open up the ecu box each time they want to upload new maps and firmware.

Here is the DIY on running the cable through the firewall and into the cabin: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=65147

or you can leave the cable from the procede hanging out of the ecu cover so all you have to do is remove one cover by hand. you dont have to run it through the glovebox. OP. you have a lot of reading to do to become familiar with what you just spent your hard earned money on.

of course. I just put it through the window. Too lazy and too many mods to have to take out for dealer.

Put it in the glovebox and lock it. They have no business going into your grove box, anyway. If they tell you you have a mod, tell them to F'-off, you will sue for invation of privacy.
