12.8 at 109 mph would be respectable.

I think its possible with some MS109, or with meth, DCI, +DPs?
I think sometimes people overestimate the handicap the manual has over the automatic, but it does vary much more with the skill of the driver. I have a steptronic, but here are my results that I just got tonight while testing on map#1 (custom), on 91 oct+meth+dci+dps Also else totally stock down to the RFTs and open diff. 12.3 @ 119.6mph, 0-60: 4.0 sec This is a 2.1 sec 60' with a no warmup burn out 2nd gear launch. I'm not sure how much the DPs help. I plan on removing them this weekend to test their effectiveness. |

Don't expect to trap over 109. I can guarantee you won't unless it is very cold out. Realistic expectations would be high 12s (probably not in a MT with an inexperienced driver) at around 107-108. Thats from my experience seeing about 10-15 other 335s with similar mods.

There are plenty of us CA guys running 91 oct and map 5 or 7. You need to have supporting mods and the cooler the weather, the better. I daily drive map 5 with 91 oct

Well what I dont understand is the tuned 335s are walking new m3s all over the place and they are putting down quite a bit more power but the m3 runs it in 12.7 at 113 so shouldnt the tuned 335 be quicker then that?

You can break 12's with race gas though.

The discussion is 6MT 335i. From a roll, it is possible, but from a dig, the 6MT on street tires is near impossible to be consistent with. Especially tune only RFTs.

Have you actually seen that or just going by what you heard? None of the M3s I have seen at the strip come close to that mph stock.

I plan on doing some testing with my Perf Box this weekend. So far the best 0-60 I have managed on map 5 91 oct everything else stock on my AT 135i is 4.5sec. The best 60-100 I have seen is 5.5 but I started that run at 57mph so it had very little time to get to full steam before hitting 60. It does take a lot of practice to get good with launching and shifting at the right places for maximum results.

I have an automatic with JB3 1.4 on map 5, DCI and non-runflats and I launched at somewhere between 1500-2000 RPM and got a 12.99 in the 1/4 mile. It was my first drag strip race ever...

No I havent seen the m3 trap at that personally, I was just going at what I think motortrend rated it at. To me a tuned/dci 335 feels alot faster then the m3's I have driven. Might be because of the low-end torque with the tuned 335s.

Well, like I said, I was going to De-Mod the car a little by removing the down pipes, to evaluate the performance decrease. The car seems to have more lag, but surprisingly, trap speeds are still good! With the extra lag, it is actually a little harder to modulate wheel spin, because you tend to give it more throttle now off the line.
So 118mph traps on JB3, 91 oct+meth+DCI. All else bone stock.
