So I cracked one of my wheels...

...and my left front tire keeps going flat. I found a used wheel from a place in California that will set me back $255, but I had no choice.

I was told that, since the crack on my wheel is on the inside, it can be repaired. I want to get that done and keep is as a backup if it's not terribly expensive.

Have any of you ever had this done and is it worth it? If so, can you recommend a place?

Added note: My car had the crappy run-flats so there's no spare or even a donut. I have since replaced them with Hankooks.

I had a crack/split in a rim and had it welded. I wouldn't really recommend it - But it does the job for a quick fix. I would say do it if it was going to be a spare tire. It cost me £15.

one thing is for sure - something that has been repaired will never be as solid as before.

As I mentioned in my original post, since I don't currently have a spare I thought I would get it welded and have a used tire mounted on it so I have a backup in case something like this happens again...or I get a flat!

On my previous car (b7 Audi) I ran a set of 19" OZ superturismos for a year with 2 wheels that had been repaired (each had an inch long hairline crack on the lip of the inner barrel by the lovely previous owner...). Never had any sort of issue; the shop did a great job welding them and balancing afterwards.

You should be able to find plenty of shops in your area that will do this. Just search online for customer reviews; that always seems to work best for me when looking for the best places to get a specific job done. Go for it; that's a nice cheap n easy way to keep an OEM spare.

There was an issue the 18s cracking as well on the 335i was there not? If so, that's 2 oem wheels that crack?

New owner here looking at the style 313s, but if oem quality is that bad I'll go after market.

i kind not what size. what style are they look them up you could be better off just finding a used rim online.
