DIY Oil Cooler Mod

Before i start taking stuff apart I want to get more people's opinions on this mod.
Also just to get this straight... in regards to the spring, is it better to put the spring in the other side of the plunger or just to remove the whole plunger/spring combo????

I live in S.FL btw so it's HOT year round.

Does someone have a basic parts list for this DIY? I'd like to keep a thermostat if possible - any insights would help!

And I can't tell from the post, but is this only an add-on for people that have the stock oil cooler, or can those that don't have one add this?

You would buy one that does.

You need to get a housing from a car or new that can be used with a oil cooler.
I bought a used one for $250 ish think new might be around $300-$350 maybe.
I never followed through with my oil cooler conversion. I live in s fl and monitored my temps last summer and never hit a dangerous temp or limp mode due to temp.
I only drag race every so often, but if I tracked my car I would have followed through with oil cooler.

best is to modify the plunger itself like this option. Oil is forced to go through the oil cooler first.

Use a higher end oil cooler. Buy a used Setrab core off ebay. Also don't skimp on the oil cooler lines.

From what i understand, this mod deletes the thermostat and the oil flows continuously through the oil cooler.

But what happens in the summer during a track day session?
