New guy - STI's, Evo's, 911, C6, now a 335xi

Hey guys, I just picked up my CPO'd 08 on Saturday after trading in my 2nd STI I've ever owned. Was sad to see it go, but am really digging the 335.

Here's the last ride:

Anyone know who may have owned the xi? are they on here? I couldn't figure out what exhaust is on the car, but there is the CF trim on the rear and the car has AC Schnitzer pedals as well. It's an auto/step trans with premium package, sport, nav, etc.

I'm looking to tint the car soon and most likely debadge the 335xi from the rear, then rims, possibly the Linea's from wheeldude.

Thanks, and hopefully everyone on here are as cool as the Subaru guys

John

welcome, it looks like the previous owner helped saved you a couple steps in mandatory mods for the e92.

i have an xi too, and the only difficult thing i suppose is finding the right suspension. there's not a lot of options out there for our xi's.

Welcome! Nice color combo on your E92. I am surprised as hell it was sold as a CPO with the exhaust and rear bumper mod though!

That's what I was thinking too - I was like, quad exhaust, pedals, and rear CF trim.. alright, thanks! haha..

Suspension - I'll either leave it alone or look at KW's, which is what I almost put on the STI before getting rid of her.

I'm on the north side, near 355 and North/Main. Where are you located?

very nice... definitely a nice transition to these cars. Different, but in a good way - many good ways!

Welcome, personally wasn't a fan of the 08 STIs since they cost more than a nice CPO 335, but I came from an 06 which I loved for what it was

Tips were removed likely with the exhaust valve, so it should probably sound like it's had the golf-tee mod done to it, since tips should not change the sound.

I'm near Roosevelt and Main. That's odd. There was a guy with an '08 STI right around by you that wanted to trade me for my car late last year. I don't think it was you though

I hear ya. The 08s were actually being given away the end of the first year with like 7k under msrp and 0% financing.. which I missed by about 4 months. They were getting costly, and the performance never really increased from 2004. And you're right on, I just got my CPO car for basically what I paid for my new STI in July of '08.

Yeah great cars but the 335 doesn't really leave me missing much, other than having a 300hp snowmobile with blizzaks in the winter (i just store my RWD 335 in the winter).

The new STIs and Evos seem a bit confused with the 2009+ WRX being so fast and the STI and Evo being so expensive and trying to be refined, but ultimately still feeling cheap and extremely overpriced. I liked the power delivery on my 06, but the 08 felt extremely peaky and the 6700 rpm redline made the peaky nature that much more short lived. Twin-turbo power and no lag + german refinement = match made in heaven.

With those rims though yours is the best looking new STI i've seen so far though!
