Question Broken shroud

Hey guys yesterday I was looking around my intercooler area when I noticed the right black plastic shroud (or at least thats what I think its called) is broken. The broken piece, about 3-4 inches long, is resting loosely on the bottom of the bumper in front of the IC. Thankfully you cant hear any rattling noise while driving. Is this something I should worry about? Does this piece affect the performance of the car at all? Should I have this fixed/replaced?

When winter is over, I am planning to get a new FMIC and my understanding is that this piece often needs to be cut anyway for the FMIC to fit. Should I just leave it alone until I upgrade? Right now it looks pretty stupid since the left shroud is still fine. Thanks in advance.

just remove it , you will have to trim that anyway with aftermarket IC (depending on what you get.) does not affect anything, just a piece of plastic.

If I take it off with the stock IC still in, will the car run ok? Or should I only take it off once I get the upgraded FMIC?
