Where is that 3 miles gone?

Checked the journey computer and it says total distance travelled is 443miles...

then I realise on the dash board my mileage done is 440! what happened to the 3 miles difference?

The nearest sandwich shop to Sytner Sheffield is 1.5 miles away iirc.

Is it worth asking the dealer or would it not matter now?

I think its standard practice to reset the mileage after delivery to the dealership.
I've seen similar on new cars I've had before.

In fact, if I were you I'd be delighted it was only 3 miles. I picked up a new Passat once that had 4 miles on the clock but the trip computer showed nearly 250 and it had wear on the brake discs and bugs in the grills to prove it!

They re-set the trip computer Carl, mine was re-set even though the car had 33 miles on the clock.

The trip will often be reset during programming during pdi. Bringing the car out of "transit mode" will often do this.

Nothing to worry about.
