S 'Ok, I've blown a few head gaskets as well. It could be a DIY if you've got tools and skills.
If not, sux, cause it can be a little pricey.

Yep, me and my dad are going to do the work. I think I'll replace the head bolts with studs while we're at it cause I doubt this will be the last time I'm pulling the head off, my engine doesn't seem to like autocross.

Nikki's BMW on the other hand..

head gaskets can also just wear out/break

I had a friend with a saturn (1996 iirc) and it blew a head gasket, and that thing was very far from ever seeing any type of competetive driving.

good luck on the fix, that job is a beeyotch, with the removal of so many parts!!!!!!

i did replace the gasket though....took me forever

I'm getting very excited myself on starting my long awaited car project. (Lets just say i'v been educating myself these past years

Planning to do all the work myself. Compared to alot of people here, I'm not so keen on starting the drift basics just yet. Will be going towards doing some autox and track time.

I would personally go the S14 route because I have an unhealthy obsession with the S chassis for some reason.

It depends on how much work you want to put into it I think. 240s are fun but in stock form they aren't anything special. It would take a bit of work to match the Skyline's power and performance. It is a few hundred pounds lighter though. The Skyline would take less work to have a track ready car. Any reason for the GTS-t rather than the GT-R besides that I'm sure it's cheaper?

I like the S14 route because you can go in so many different directions with the car. KA-T, RB20/25, SR20, CA18, they even make LS1 swap kits now and you will end up with an awesome car no matter which way you go.
