Engine Management light on Cold start only

Hi, I have a BMW 325i 2008 e92, Its been driving perfectly although for the last 2 mornings it has been very cold and on a cold start the Engine Management light comes on, I've run it through and one time this code came up: 002EE6 and that came off and another time this code: 002A2C. Anyone got any advice please?

002EE6 might be hinting at a fuel pressure hiccup or a tired fuel pump, especially since the cold can really highlight those issues. For the 002A2C, it could be something to do with the air getting into your engine, like a sneaky air leak or a dirty mass air flow sensor. Maybe give your battery a check too, as the cold loves to pick on the weaker ones.

Got a chuckle out of 2 SOCAL guys giving a Scot "Cold Weather Advice".

Hope you're "high & dry".

Sammy,
Curious to know what DME SGBD/Variant your 325i has. In US, the 325i had the "MSV70" DME AFAIK, but I don't see a Definition FOR MSV70 for either of those codes in BMW Fault Code Lookup. As you hopefully know, DTC Definitions VARY, depending upon the Module SGBD/ Variant.

Definitions for OTHER DME Variants (MSV80 & MSD80) suggest the signals from either the ECTS (Engine Coolant Temp Sensor) or MAF (Mass Air Flow) Sensor may be "Implausible" in some way until the engine warms.

If all is OK once the engine warms, and codes do NOT return until the next cold start, I would simply remove the connector from the ECTS, inspect pins & sockets for any moisture or corrosion, spray pins/sockets with Electronic Contact cleaner, wipe & reassemble. Repeat for MAF Sensor Connector.

Please let us know if that helps,
George
