Spa, a Radical SR3, a Caterham, a track and a crash!

managed to convert the file to an uploadable version that photobucket would accept. sorry about the logo but the file converter was free.

this footage came from one of the trackside cameras they use in race control to direct the race.

race control said it was the fault of the Caterham for pulling across the track and hitting me when i was almost past him.

Ouch! Hope you're ok and that there wasn't too much damage ? Did you catch-up with the Caterham driver?

He clearly moved into your path. Much damage to your car?

Did you have words with Mr Caterham in the pit lane?

NO. it took all of 20 mins to close the circuit and get the car recovered by a hiab truck. by this time he was long gone. he knew he done wrong and didn't want to face the music.

yes some damage. the new front splitter i just installed got damaged, the rear wheel that hit the wall broke, the upright bent, the wishbones top and bottem will need replacing because of strain. all in all probably about £2-3K.

i shall try and find him and ask hif he would like to help me pay for the damage he caused!!!

Dario, glad you are ok - that could have been a lot worse. It looked like you were going to go in head first.

no Carlos it was a trackday. also regarding insurace, in the past i have ivestiaged the sost and its circa £300 per event and £5000 excess.

BTW the car behind me is my mate in his E36 alpina race car.

later on in the day he had a suspension failure and destrioed the car. cant post the video until he allows it to go public.

i big mother of an accident. bastard of it was that he had to pay for the barrieres he destroyed. 1800 euros.... GULP just to add insult to injury. he and his passanger walked away!

lucky bunny.

yeh the wall was looming large and i was able to steer away from a frontal impact which would have been might expensive.

at the point of impact we were doing about 75mph
