The folks at Everyday Driver revisit an old friend, the Z4 M Coupé

Quote:
The BMW Z4M coupe is a collection of parts from BMW. It's rare, unique, and surprisingly affordable as a used car. Join the guys take a clean Z4M on a great mountain road and come away surprised.

Puts a smile on my face every time I drive it, and evokes more emotional attachment than anything I've ever owned. It really is a gem.

Gearbox? Gearbox is fine once with a few small mods (CDV delete, etc.) and learn the secret 1st to 2nd gear handshake (not kidding about that).

Talking Z4 M Coupe

Last Call
I have an Interlagos blue Z4 M Coupe I have put a deposit on in SoCal pending inspection. However, I am still looking until the purchase is confirmed(likely Monday 10/16/17).
So, if you know of one or have one you want to sell I have cash in hand. Finder's fee of 400.00 for connecting me with a car I buy. Must be less than 50,000 miles. My limit is $33K. Please text me rather than post.

Thanks!
Carl

100% agree. But even the 3.0si Coupe is a wonderful car in its own right and less expensive to maintain with probably 90% of the street capability of the M. If you can't find a decent Z4 M Coupe, the non-M version is a good second choice.

My 2 cents.

Don't believe anything you hear in these videos about the Z4M being a great car. The Z4M Roadster is horrible, and the Z4M Coupe is even worse. The S54 engine is a dog. Buy a Porsche, instead. These things should only be worth $15K tops with low mileage. They suck so bad.

(Or maybe I just don't want the prices to increase, so I can add a coupe to my collection)

But yea it's a great car and I was the proud owner of one for about a year and a half. But as mentioned in the video, the ride is punishing for a daily driver and also at 6'1" I just couldn't do it anymore.

You would have to pry the keys out of my dead hands before I would sell mine, but if I could only have a dollar for every person who has asked.

Cannot wait till mine is back from a fresh engine rebuild.

My Z4M is saving me a TON of money. It's so fantastic, and I love it so, I'm not spending money on any other cars as long as this thing stays in good shape. I've test driven a lot of fine automobiles in the past couple months, and not a single one of them has even tempted me in the slightest to give up my Z4M. I have a feeling it's a car I might have forever, and then just add another car one day if I ever want more than one car.

I simply cannot recommend the car enough to anyone who is interested in one.

The 3.0 si is a great option, probably the smart money play vs the ///M truth be told.

Coupe's pretty sick, they should've just modernized it (I would've upscaled the dashbrd controls, smoothed out the rear edges, but pretty much keep the rest as-is) instead of spawning the E89, but, hey, I could've done a lot worse.

What you are talking about? Do we live in the same city or what? Stop giving the Yankees the stereotypical impression of Canuckland=Antarctica.

It's 18C (64F) right now, go out and enjoy your ride.

Loved my mCoupe, will probably own one again, but the gearbox was not the best. Had mine replaced at the 1200 mile break in.

Great video!
