Im thinking of upgrading my charge pipe, what are all the advantages to it? And how about adding a BOV to it?

No significant performance advantages. The most popular seems to be the evolution racewerks and it has an array of blow off valve options.

It's widely used to offer the option for methanol injection kits, but mainly people just change them for the use of BOV's.

Upgrading a charge pipe on the N54 is done for several reasons

1) Your stock one broke

2) You want to run a BOV instead of the stock DVs

3) You want to run meth

4) your stock DVs / CP are leaking under high boost which is not uncommon

5) You are addicted to modding

I would first decide whether you want to run a BOV or not and then go from there. If going with a BOV I would recommend the ER CP with Tial BOV.
