Its cool i knew where you were going with that. Cutting open the bottom is lame because then BMW will know for sure you messed with the mufflers. Plus you dont have to see the welds. They will know either way but out of sight out of mind.

Is this video with just 75% of the packing removed? Or are the perforated pipes inside of the muffler replaced with straight pipes and 75% of packing removed?? I am confused. Thanks! |

So have we seen yet what a stock 335 (i.e., no downpipes/golf tee mod) sounds like when the packing is removed? I am hesitant to replace the perforated pipe, but if removing the packing makes it sound akin to the PE I'd be verrry interested.

I am planning to do just that sometime in the next month or so. I just need to find the time.

Please do it when you have time! I'm so curious as to how it would sound on a fully stock exhaust system. Perhaps when you do find the time to do it and don't mind, you could do a clip of packing removed with and without golf tee mod so we can see the difference. |

I wish the weather wasnt so shitty here or I would have the exhaust off mine messing with it right now! Someone should do my idea!
Remove all packing, replace outer pref pipes/mini resonator with solid and leave the center pref pipes alone. Or just leave the left side alone, open up the right, wrap the outter pipe and remove packing. |

I work for a European shop. My best friend/coworker is going on vacation this week and I believe she is leaving the car for our dent guy to remove some dings while she is gone. She's been wanting a PE exhaust, but I think we're gonna give this a try.
Deciding on two options. Remove 75% of the packing and remove outer perforated pipe. Or just remove 100% of the packing. Sered car sounds close.
