Why not? If something went wrong (highly unlikely), it's a BMW dealer, not a backstreet garage. No one is more qualified to work on a BMW than a BMW technician.

Hi Anneka,

is there a reason why the amplifier has to be mounted where the dab module is located, can't the amp be mounted elsewhere in the car?

If this is the only reason why DAB doesn't fit the criteria for the upgrade it seems a bit strange to me why the amp can't be mounted elsewhere in the boot of the car, for example in the empty space under the carpet.

Sorry but I can't find this information. The speakers have an aluminium membrane for improved sound quality. The rating (unknown) will be high enough to manage the power being distributed from the amplifier. The entire system has BMW approval and is designed by Alpine who are one of the worlds leading audio equipment specialists.

Is there no way of finding out the spec of the speakers?

Anyway my car is P051923 am I eligible?

Saying that, I have just found two rcas tucked behind my rear seats, so am thinking there are some mods in the car that I am unaware of.....gonna need to investigate where they are being driven from...

Hi Khurmit, the Alpine Hi Fi can be installed in your car provided it hasn't been modified. Newbies need 5 posts before they can PM.

Only just bought the 335 last weekend so barely had a chance to take a photo!

Just need to work out what the hells going on with these RCAs now! Checked in the boot and there's no amp there just the bluetooth box.....the plot thickens

I've got to say, this upgrade is mighty impressive. We had it done on the short-lived 135i and I reckon it was one of the better systems I've ever heard (without spending silly money).

I'd buy one again in a flash and for this money you're really getting very good sounds!

I had this fitted by Sytner Coventry about 12 months ago. I can thoroughly recommend the product and the service from Sytner.

I am particularly demanding about any work involving trim removal having on several occasions with other cars had trim damaged by ham-fisted mechanics.

The installation by the guy at Coventry was faultless - and I am pedantically fussy. I was so pleased with the installation I even wrote to the boss of the dealership because it warranted that proactive feedback.
