what is this bracket in the trunk for?

That's to hold up the carpet piece that lifts up

i guess im missing a piece then, just tried it and there is nothing to clip in it place

Thanks, I was wondering the same thing- called local dealer with part number and he didn't know what it was for either.

Yes sorry you are missing the piece that folds down. Didn't see that earlier was on my phone

Your clip is missing that holds up the trunks floor to open the well area.

Did you try smacking the carpet piece up? It takes some force for it to go in.
