Gas mileage on the 2011 3 series??

I have a 2011 e92 335i and I was wondering about how many miles other owners were getting per a full tank???

I am getting sadly around 280 or so on a FULL tank. I use premium as well. I think I did a crappy job at breaking the engine in when i got the car at 10 miles...

Its not just you.

I never really let it get below 1/4 tank anymore, but usually I get between 280 and 300 miles per tank with standard city driving. I've gotten 340 miles with mixed city driving once in the winter driving like a grandma the entire tank.

On the 335i I get 280-320 depending on how much city/highway I do. I'm wondering how bad its going to be since I just put jb3 in..

Wow, haha I get 225 if I'm lucky on a good week. Mainly because I spend 4 miles in bumper to bumper traffic both ways but I get excited whenever I break the 250 mark.

Looks like it could be anywhere between 17 and 27 with the average being around 21-23 mpg. http://www.fuelly.com/car/bmw/335i

Same here I have gotten 190 on a tank but it was worth it on a track day 50-50 driving I usually get 250-280 max unless I do a lot of highway driving. Hope that helps

lol OP.

You have a 2011 335i, which means you have the more "fuel efficient" N55 engine. Half of the people who answered have 335i's from 3-4 years ago. 280 though, is pretty bad as I get about 320 and I drive like an asshole in the city on the N54.

Make sure your tires (when cold) are the correct pressure. The day after I bought my new 2010, I corrected the tire pressure and matched the door jamb's recommendation. The front two were off by almost 10psi and the rears were off by 3-4.

who knows...maybe they arent as fuel efficient as they say they are...

I honestly think i just did a horrible job breaking the car in...i started with 10 miles and didnt follow the handbook...my mistake.

Do you honestly think tire pressure would play that "Drastic" of a difference in fuel economy?

You also have to factor in whether or not you drive hills.

I got a n55, fuel economy isn't that good for me either! I have about 1100 miles on the clock, while following the proper break-in procedures. The car's on-board MPG meter said i was doing 18.2mpg.

I did the more precise reset trip meter with a full tank, and calculate how much i put back in.. and it came out to 18.19mpg or so. Keep in mind though that this is a 6MT with almost exclusive city driving.

Do you guys all wait till you are on empty before you refuel? How can you do a good comparison if everyone fills up when they have a different level in their tank. I think a more accurate way to compare is to fill up and then reset the computer to MPG setting. This will keep an accurate record of your miles per gallon. It works very well. If I have traveled 250 miles and the computer says I got an average of 25 MPG, I will generally need 10 gallons to refill to the top. My current mileage averages about 23-25 combined. When I take a road trip which is ALL highway I can get about 33 (YES 33). This is at about a constant speed of between 65-85 MPH. My 2007 335i got about the same mileage as this 2011 335i. I know this car is supposed to be about 10% better but I don't see it. I only have 2200 miles so maybe it will increase as the car gets fully broken in.
